The preliminary provisional agenda for the WHO Global Conference on NCDs [1] is now available online. The conference, taking place from 18-20 October 2017 is on the theme of enhancing policy coherence to prevent and control NCDs.

The focus of the sessions ranges from convening political leadership, building ambitious national NCD responses,  making bolder political choices in the face of other interests, fast tracking the implementation,  mobilizing stakeholders, financing the NCD response, integrated disease management, improved surveillance and evaluation, and essential medicines. There will also be sessions on specific technical issues including mental health, nutrition, and humanitarian settings.

Speakers include Tabaré Vázquez, President of Uruguay; the Presidents of Argentina, Brazil and Chile; Dr Tedros, WHO Director-General; Ministers of Health and other government sectors; and representatives of academia, foundations, and civil society.
